As a DevOps engineer/ Release engineer in Production Technology, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving the studio’s Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) infrastructure for Skydance’s new global pipeline, managing software releases to Production, and supporting both pipeline developers and Production TDs.
The role also involves developing technical solutions to CI/CD challenges and enhancing the tools and CI/CD framework used to release and configure internal and third-party CGI software. The ideal candidate has strong experience with complex dependencies and environments, managing software release cycles, building CI/CD pipelines across multiple show environments with varying risk tolerances, excellent communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn new workflows.

Responsibilities:
Own the support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the global Launchpad CI/CD framework to enable fast, reliable releases.
Use the CI/CD framework to release 3p and internal software globally
Partner with technical teams across studio sites and external vendors/partners to enhance release efficiency, scalability, and user experience.
Develop deep expertise in the release framework and proactively identify areas for enhancement.
Thoroughly understand the release framework and configuration toolsets
Foster strong, proactive communication channels with developers, TDs, vendors, and stakeholders to align on priorities and resolve issues swiftly.
Create tools and automation to reduce the technical burden on the development staff
Monitor user feedback, satisfaction, and workflow pain points; drive data-informed improvements to the CI/CD ecosystem.
Regularly examine user experiences, satisfaction, and level of understanding to identify areas of improvement to the CI/CD framework
Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to assess, integrate, and deploy changes that strengthen studio-wide systems.
Create clear documentation, guides, and training materials; deliver hands-on training to developers and TDs on new tools and processes.
Examine new and innovative technologies, evaluate, and ultimately present how to improve the CI/CD framework
Requirements:
5+ years in VFX or animation industries.
3+ years in the animation industry.
High English level
Spanish desirable
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or comparable discipline and/or technical and creative knowledge gained through equivalent experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently while balancing multiple competing priorities
Understanding of CI/CD concepts and workflows
Experience with Git, Gitlab or GitHub, Docker
Experience with Linux operating systems
Proficiency with Python scripting language
Experience building compiled open-source products
Experience in debugging compile time, runtime, and configuration error
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with plugin or pipeline development in major DCC tools (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke).
Experience with ASWF Rez package wrappe
Exposure to additional languages like Rust, C++, or similar.
Knowledge of modern toolkits and platforms such as Cmake, Qt, Kubernetes, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or other cloud/container orchestration systems.
Experience supporting multi-site, global production environments.
